CCIE... The Beginning

So today is Feb 26th, amidst tumultuous job changes I've resolved to take my CCIE. Figured I've received a considerable mount of insperation from other folk's CCIE journey's and I thought I'd try this method too. Anything to keep the momentum going. We'll see if the discipline sticks.

So the rack is built, a considerable time ahead of passing my written, but hey, can't ever have enough routers right? Wife isn't really impressed by the 42U rack in the living room, but I guess she tolerates it as long as I don't fire it up.

Taking stock I have:
1 x 2511
3 x 2610
1 x 2621
1 x 2610XM
1 x 2611XM
1 x 2621XM
1 x 2650XM
2 x 2801
1 x 2811
4 x 2821
2 x 2851
2 x 3845
3 x 2950
4 x 2960
1 x 3560
1 x 3560G
1 x 3750 PoE

Enough I think. Funny how much e-waste people have nowadays. First step has been to document all of the hardware. I find it comedic that after spending the quality time to acquire all the gear I find myself drawn back to GNS3 deciding it was 'less messy' than actually cabling the whole rack. Admittedly it was after spending a couple hours taking the time to figure out that T1/CSU to T1/CSU WIC cards won't light up without a T1 Crossover. Too bad monoprice won't take back the ethernet crossover cables I bought. So where is a guy to go if you don't want to strip and crimp your own T1 crossover cables? Friendly eBay sellers to the rescue!
